How to use Picamera with Raspberry Pi OS Bullseye: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7KPSc_Xr24&list=WL&index=2
Description:
This minimal camera for the Pi Zero (or Pi Zero W, WH, 2W) is perfect for small camera projects where space is at a premium.
The sensor is 5MP, and the whole shebang is mounted on a flexible circuit board. As such, a little care is needed when handling, just like the connector on the Pi Zero. Easy there, Lennie!
Otherwise it's an economical and svelte solution for bird box cameras, body-cams, home security, and simple computer vision projects.
Now with 160 degree wide angle lens
Features

One of the most popular add-ons for the Raspberry Pi, the official Camera Module – or the new High Quality Camera – turns your favourite single-board computer into a powerful digital camera.
Launched back in 2013, the original Camera Module was succeeded by the higher-spec v2 in April 2016. The High Quality Camera, due to launch on 30 April 2020, offers Ultra HD image resolution and enables you to attach any standard C- or CS-mount lens.
In this book we show readers how to get started with their Raspberry Pi camera, taking photos and videos from the command line and writing Python programs to automate the process. We’ll reveal how to create time-lapse and slow-motion videos, before moving on to a range of exciting
projects. There are just so many things that can be done with a Raspberry Pi camera!
• Learn how to set up the new High Quality Camera, attach a
lens, and start capturing images
• Take selfies and shoot stop-motion videos
• Build a wildlife camera and also an underwater one
• Make a smart door with a video doorbell
• Set up a security camera to monitor your home
• And much more!

The PIR Camera Case makes it easy to create a motion-sensing camera project with your Raspberry Pi 4.
It's the perfect case for anyone wishing to make an indoor security camera, pet monitor, baby monitor, office cam or any other project where you'd like to use a camera module to record whoever (or whatever!) moves in front of your camera. The case comes with the PIR module and wires. Please note:
Only compatible with the official Raspberry Pi Camera Module Raspberry Pi and camera module not included!
Mounted PIR and Camera Module
The case comes with the PIR module and wires included. The PIR module is neatly mounted to the front of the case and the three PIR wires connect directly to the Raspberry Pi GPIO pins (5V, GND and GPIO 17). The camera module (not included) is also mounted to the front of the case, and connected in the usual way (CSI connector), with the ribbon cable neatly tucked into the case. A clear lens ring protects your camera from any unexpected knocks or bumps.
Easy to Code
Coding the project is super-simple, and to help you get started we've created a GitHub repository dedicated to this case. The GitHub repository takes you through setup, basic commands and full Python project examples showing the PIR module and camera working together.
You can expand on these however you like, adding other functions such as cloud storage upload, video effects, alerts and more!
Please remember PIR sensors can be temperamental (and can also be impacted by WiFi, heat and other interference) so will need some tweaking to reduce excessive false triggers.
Compatability
We include two sets of side panels to make this case compatible with both the Raspberry Pi 4.
In the box
- Case panels
- Lens protector ring
- Fixings pack
- PIR sensor
- PIR cable

Arducam High-Resolutions Autofocus camera is an exclusive camera board that takes what Raspberry Pi V1, V2, and HQ have to offer, and excels in every single aspect.
It takes zero compromises in specs. With a resolution of 16 megapixels (compared to 8MP and 12MP), an autofocus lens, a V2-like form factor, and boatloads of improvements, the camera provides a better choice for a whole world of industrial/consumer/etc. applications, it’s compatible with any existing Pi models, works with the latest software from the foundation, and leverages the same tuning algorithms used in the official camera modules.

Check out this review by Jeff Geerling and his video https://youtu.be/j2S8sZoH36Y
16MP Camera Module for All Pis.
2 times higher resolution than the v2 camera, 40% higher than the HQ camera. Based on the 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor, this new camera module gives all Raspberry Pi hackers every bit of power they need to build future-proof projects.
V1/V2 Size, with Autofocus.
The community has been craving autofocus in Pi cameras, so Arducam took the advice. This camera has the classic V1/V2 form-factor so you can add hassle-free upgrades to your existing projects, or build new applications with the best flexibility on cameras.
Crisper Images/Videos Than The HQ Camera.
It’s not just the resolution bump, the “quality” is way higher than the HQ Camera too. With the same camera tuning algorithms from the foundation, this module beats the Raspberry Pi HQ camera in every aspect. (sharpness/saturation/exposure/etc.)
Safety instructions:
- Before connecting, you should always power the Raspberry Pi off and remove the power supply first.
- Make sure the cable on the camera board is locked in place.
- Make sure the cable is correctly inserted in the Raspberry Pi board’s MIPI CSI-2 connector.
- Avoid high temperatures.
- Avoid water, moisture, or conductive surfaces while in operation.
- Avoid folding, or straining the flex cable.
- Avoid cross-threading with tripods.
- Gently push/pull the connector to avoid damaging the printed circuit board.
- Avoid moving or handling the printed circuit board excessively while it’s in operation.
- Handle by the edges to avoid damages from electrostatic discharge.
- Where the camera board is stored should be cool and as dry as possible.
- Sudden temperature/humidity changes can cause dampness in the lens and affect the image/video quality.
