Recent upgrades
If you were used to seeing the Self Test at power on, this has now been removed. However if you remove the jumper located on the controller board you can re-enable this feature.
This device uses the Pi's HDMI output for display, and the Pi's USB port for touch control. Assembly of the Waveshare 10.1" screen is easy, just follow this simple guide here.

The DAC is a HAT compliant add on accessory for the Raspberry Pi A /B /RPi2 /RPi3 or PRi4. The DAC uses the Texas Instruments PCM5122 DAC to deliver analogue audio to the DAC ’s Phono connectors. The PI DAC also supports a dedicated headphone amplifier.

This is the perfect cable choice for those that want to output music or general sound for the BBC micro:bit, to either headphones or speakers.
At one end of the cable are the black and red crocodile clips, which connect to the microbits GND and Pin 0 respectively. At the other end of the cable is a 3.5mm TRS (tip, ring sleeve) stereo jack.
The 3.5mm TRS stereo jack means you can either connect your headphones directly to your BBC micro:bit or if you would rather use a speaker, you can use one of our MP3 mono amplifier kits to drive the speaker.
Please Note:
Although the BBC micro:bit can supply enough current to drive a pair of headphones, you will need an amplifier if you wish to drive an audio speaker. A MP3 mono amplifier kit is an ideal choice as it offers both the amplifier and speaker.
Please be aware however this lead does not work with true Mono leads and is designed to work with Stereo Leads.
