Introduction
MC4 connectors are single-contact electrical connectors commonly used for connecting solar panels. The MC in MC4 stands for the manufacturer Multi-Contact and the 4 for the 4 mm diameter contact pin. MC4s allow strings of panels to be easily constructed by pushing the connectors from adjacent panels together by hand, but require a tool to disconnect them to ensure they do not accidentally disconnect when the cables are pulled. The MC4 and compatible products are universal in the solar market today, equipping almost all solar panels produced since about 2011.

The Pioneer600 is a blue expansion board that clicks onto the GPIO pins of Raspberry Pi and adds a range of additional features.
First of these features we noticed was a five-way joystick and 0.96-inch OLED display. This is backed up by a dual-LED and buzzer. On closer inspection, we discovered the on-board LFN0038K to enable remote control. A DS3231 real-time clock is also included (you’ll need to supply your own battery).
There is a built-in BMP280 for measuring air pressure and temperature, but it’s the available ports for external sensors that are the key attraction: a PCF8591, 8-bit resolution, screw terminal interface, a 1-Wire device (a DS18B20 thermometer is included), a 4×4 pin sensor interface, and GPIO expansion.
There is also a micro USB to UART connection and cable supplied. UART is normally used to debug Raspberry Pi, but with debugging mode disabled, you can send data to and from Raspberry Pi and a connected PC.

pin:bit breaks out all of the useful pins from your micro:bit into breadboard format while providing handy-dandy labels to make your builds go smoothly.
It's ideal for building small circuits on a breadboard, and for exploring what different types of components like LEDs, buttons, and analog sensors do and how they work.
Just slot in your micro:bit and then hook up to its pins with a breadboard or by connecting jumpers directly. We've broken out every spare pin on the micro:bit that isn't shared with the LED matrix, so your projects won't interfere with the built-in functionality.
Features
- Comes fully-assembled and ready to use
- Pins exposed:
- 3V and GND
- Analog channels 0, 1, and 2 (these are the large pads on your micro:bit)
- I2C bus interface

The USB to TTL serial adapter is based on the high quality and very popular FTDI FT232RL chipset and is an excellent way to connect TTL serial devices to a PC through a USB port.
This USB to TTL serial adapter is ideal for many uses, including:
Programming microprocessors such as ARM, AVR, etc
Working with computing hardware such as routers and switches
Serial communication with many devices such as GPS devices
Serial terminals on devices like the Raspberry Pi
Unlike most USB to TTL serial adapters, this adapter supports both 5V AND 3.3V operation! Simply set the jumper as required to choose between 5V and 3.3V as labelled on the board.
The adapter comes with a right-angle connector fitted allowing you to use it straight away. If you need to access any of the other inputs or outputs of the FT232RL, all the useful signals are provided as through-hole solder pads - ideal for use with straight headers into a breadboard, for example.
Package includes:
1 x FT232RL USB to serial converter module
