The SparkFun Bi-Directional Logic Level Converter is a tiny board that lets devices running at different logic voltages talk to each other safely. It is ideal for connecting 3.3V sensors and modules to a 5V microcontroller such as an Arduino Uno, or vice versa.
Each channel shifts signals both ways: 5V signals are stepped down to 3.3V, and 3.3V signals are stepped up to 5V, all on the same pin. It also works with lower-voltage devices running at 2.8V or 1.8V.
The board has four channels, giving you four high-voltage pins and four matching low-voltage pins. Simply supply the high voltage to the HV pin, the low voltage to the LV pin, and connect ground to GND. It works well with serial, I2C and SPI signals.
