The SparkFun OpenLog is a compact, open-source data logger that acts like a "black box" for your project. Send it serial data over just two wires and it saves everything straight to a microSD card.

It's ideal for recording sensor readings, GPS data or debug output from an Arduino, Raspberry Pi or any other device with a UART. Power it up, connect TX to its RX pin, and it starts logging to a text file automatically.

OpenLog is built around an ATmega328 that comes preprogrammed with the firmware and bootloader, so you can update or customise it with the Arduino IDE. A simple command mode lets you create files, append to them and change settings such as the baud rate, and two LEDs show you when it is writing.

Please note: a microSD card and headers are not included.
