Waterproof DS18B20 Digital temperature sensor + Resistor 1M (Waterproof DS18B20 temp)

Description:

This is a pre-wired and waterproofed version of the DS18B20 sensor.  Handy for when you need to measure something far away, or in wet  conditions. While the sensor is good up to 125°C the cable is jacketed  in PVC so we suggest keeping it under 100°C. Because they are digital,  you don't get any signal degradation even over long distances! These  1-wire digital temperature sensors are fairly precise (±0.5°C over much  of the range) and can give up to 12 bits of precision from the onboard  digital-to-analog converter. They work great with any microcontroller  using a single digital pin, and you can even connect multiple ones to  the same pin, each one has a unique 64-bit ID burned in at the factory  to differentiate them. Usable with 3.0-5.0V systems.

The only  downside is they use the Dallas 1-Wire protocol, which is somewhat  complex, and requires a bunch of code to parse out the communication. If  you want something really simple, and you have an analog input pin,  the TMP36 is trivial to get going.

We toss in a 4.7k resistor, which is required as a pullup from the DATA to VCC line when using the sensor.

Specifications:

Cable specs:

  • Stainless steel tube 6mm diameter by 30mm long
  • Cable is 36" long / 91cm, 4mm diameter
  • Contains DS18B20 temperature sensor
  • If  your sensor has four wires - Red connects to 3-5V, Black connects to  ground and White is data. The copper wire is soldered to the wire  shielding
  • If your sensor has three wires - Red connects to 3-5V, Blue/Black connects to ground and Yellow/White is data

Piezo Transducer - Mini 5V Buzzer (4000Hz) (buzzer pcb 5V)

Description:

If you want to add beeps, tones or alerts to your Raspberry Pi project, you require a Piezo Buzzer! This mini transducer is small but loud, and can be driven with a 1-20V peak-to-peak square wave. To use, connect one pin to ground (either one) and the other pin to a square wave out from a timer or microcontroller. For the loudest tones, stay around 4 KHz. For extra loudness, you can connect both pins to a microcontroller and swap which pin is high or low ('differential drive') for double the volume.

This one plops perfectly into a breadboard and has short legs, so can also easily be mounted on a PCB!

Please Note. This item is externally driven, e.g. requires a microcontroller to produce a tone.

Raspberry Pi Sense HAT (Sense Hat)

The Sense HAT is an add-on board for Raspberry Pi, made especially for the Astro Pi mission! It’s going to the International Space Station in December 2015 – and is now available to buy from PiShop.

The Sense HAT has an 8×8 RGB LED matrix, a five-button joystick and includes the following sensors:

  • 3D Gyroscope
  • Accelerometer (Yaw, Pitch & Roll)
  • Magnetometer
  • Temperature
  • Barometric Pressure
  • Humidity

The Raspberry Pi Foundation have also created a Python library providing easy access to everything on the board.

Sensing Elements Technical Specification:

Pressure / Temperature (ST Micro LPS25H)
– 24-bit pressure measurement resolution (260hPa to 1260hPa)
– 16-bit temperature measurement resolution (0-125°C)
Datasheet

Humidity / Temperature (ST Micro HTS221)
– 16-bit humidity measurement resolution (0-100% relative humidity)
– 16-bit temperature measurement resolution (0-60°C)
Datasheet

Acceleration/Gyroscope/Magnetic field (ST Micro LSM9DS1)
– 9 degrees of freedom (X, Y, Z independent axes for all sensors)
– ±16 g acceleration measurement range
– ±16 gauss magnetometer measurement range
– ±2000 dps (degrees per second) gyroscope measurement range
Each of these measurement channels has 16 bits of resolution.
Datasheet

All of these sensors have features for periodic sampling of sensor values, complete with internal FIFO storage. The LPS25H and HTS221 have maximum sample rates of 25 per second, the LSM9DS1 has a maximum sample rate of 952Hz

LED Matrix
The LED matrix is driven by a combination of a constant-current LED driver and an Atmel ATTiny88 running a custom firmware that delivers an 8×8 display with 15-bit resolution RGB colour. If you want to get into the gory details, the AVR firmware is available on Github.

Joystick
The Atmel is responsible for sampling the joystick. We didn’t have enough pins left on the Atmel to dedicate the five that we needed to sample the joystick axes independently, so they’ve been spliced into the LED matrix row selects. The joystick gets updated at approximately 80Hz, which is the scan rate of the LED matrix.

All of the sensors (and the base firmware for the Atmel) are accessible from the Pi over I2C. As a fun bonus mode, the SPI peripheral on the Atmel has been hooked up to the Pi’s SPI interface – you can reprogram your HAT in the field! We use this method to get the firmware into the Atmel during production test – and we leave it unprotected so you can substitute the stock firmware to get it to do whatever you want. Seriously. First person to turn this sensor HAT into a quadcopter controller HAT wins a cookie from me.

Getting Started

Connect your Sense HAT to the Raspberry Pi via the 40 GPIO Pins. You will then need to install the software:

Open up a terminal and run the following command:

wget -O - http://www.raspberrypi.org/files/astro-pi/astro-pi-install.sh --no-check-certificate

When the install has finished you will need to reboot your Raspberry Pi!

Infrared Obstacle Avoidance Sensor (IR detecter 1 channel)
The sensor module light is adjustable to the environment, the working voltage is 3.3 V to 5 V.
It has a pair of infrared transmitting and receiving LEDs, when detecting obstacles (reflecting surface), receiving LED detects it.

After the comparator circuit processing, a green indicator will light up, at the same time the signal output interface will output a digital signal (a low level signal), can be adjusted to detection distance through the potentiometer, effective distance range 2 ~ 80 cm, easy to assemble and use. It can be widely used in robot obstacle avoidance, line following and so on in many projects.

USB Detector Current Voltage 3V-9V Tester Dual USB Dual display (USB Docter Dual)

Use the USB Charger Doctor to measure the working voltage and current output for any USB port and project. This plastic dongle plugs between a USB device, and passes the data lines through. There's a 0.05 ohm resistor in line with the power pin that is used to measure current draw. The Doctor's digital display instantly reads the numbers out for testing devices such as chargers, cables, and cell phones.

You can use this device from 3.5-7VDC input voltage (although most USB devices tend to hover around 4.75 to 5.25) and up to 3A of current. It displays both voltage and current readouts. It's a very handy tool for testing USB devices, checking load levels and debugging battery chargers and boost converters.
