Description:

Solar panels are a clean and ecological source of electricity.

Obtaining this energy, however, poses a number of challenges for device designers. The amount of energy produced by the panel is strongly dependent on the angle of incidence and the intensity of the light falling on the surface of the cells. This, in turn, leads to unstable power supply parameters at the output, as even shading a small part of the panel may drastically reduce the efficiency.


The optimal solution to the above-mentioned problems is the use of a set consisting of a solar panel, a battery and a charge controller. Such a set allows to ensure constant parameters of power supply to receivers, and also to store energy produced excessively for later use.


The 30A-PWM-LCD solar charge controller allows you to connect panels connected to each other both in series and in parallel - remembering not to exceed the permissible values of current and voltage at the input of the device. Due to the operating characteristics of the PWM controllers, it should be remembered that when the panels are connected in series, the rated voltage at the output for charging the battery is 24V.

PWM stands for Pulse Width Modulation. PWM charge control devices can be explained as an electrical switch between batteries. The switch can be quickly switch on and switch off. Therefore, desired voltage can be obtained to charge the batteries. The charge current will be slowly decreased as the batteries charged.

PiBorg - Motor Controller (Piborg motor controller)

Description:

The PicoBorg is an ultra compact motor controller for the Raspberry Pi!

With PicoBorg, you can turn on and off fans, motors, solenoids or relays from your Raspberry Pi. There are 4 low side drivers, so you can turn on and off 4 devices, and one device is connected to the Pi's PWM pin, so you can vary the speed of that motor! Motor control is accessed via a simple GUI, which can be installed by following the PicoBorg installation instructions.

Motor power is not taken directly from the Raspberry Pi, so there's no risk of your Pi dropping out. Instead, the PicoBorg utilises a battery pack to drive the motors; meaning you're not restricted to 5V motors, in fact you can drive ANY motors up to 20V!

The PicoBorg is perfect for any small motor project, for example:

  • 4 fans on/off control over all and vary speed on one fan
  • 4 solenoids
  • 4 DC motors (on / off control over all and vary speed on one motor)
  • Control one 6 wire stepper motor in both directions
  • Rover project!

  • There is no current limiting, you must observe current restrictions
  • There is no short circuit or reverse voltage protection
  • For commercial applications and control of larger motors and lower resistance coils etc, PiBorg or PiBorg nano may be a better solution
  • If you are new to electronics and getting started, we recommend you don't use a battery, rather a low current <100mA power supply as this can be more forgiving if you get things wrong
  • Be very careful of connections and soldering as mistakes could potentially hurt your picoBorg and Raspberry Pi.

Raspberry Pi Pico W provides a minimal yet flexible external circuitry to support the RP2040 chip: flash memory (Winbond W25Q16JV), a crystal, power supplies and decoupling, and USB connector. The majority of the RP2040 microcontroller pins are brought to the user IO pins on the left and right edge of the board. Four RP2040 I/O are used for internal functions: driving an LED, on-board switch mode power supply (SMPS) power control, and sensing the system voltages.

Pico W has an on-board 2.4GHz wireless interface using an Infineon CYW43439. The antenna is an onboard antenna licensed from ABRACON (formerly ProAnt). The wireless interface is connected via SPI to the RP2040.

Pico W has been designed to use either soldered 0.1-inch pin-headers (it is one 0.1-inch pitch wider than a standard 40-pin DIP package), or to be positioned as a surface mountable 'module', as the user I/O pins are also castellated. There
are SMT pads underneath the USB connector and BOOTSEL button, which allow these signals to be accessed if used as a reflow-soldered SMT module.

To check compatibility of a new remote with the receiver. Simply press the button on the remote, if the receiver flashes, but does not Triger the relay. The remote will be compatible, and you can start the programing process

To add a remote, press the button on receiver momentarily. The red light will come on. Then press the button on the remote that you want to program in. The red light will start flashing. After 4 flashes in will stop, and the button will be programmed in.

For the setting to take effect, the board needs to be disconnected from it’s power supply. The bellow settings will be done to the 3 headers and bridge pin on the receiver board, above the push button.

  • With the header removed, the On button will switch the relay on, and the off button will in turn switch the relay off.
  • With the header on Pin 1-2. Both Buttons will become momentary. And only hold the relay in place as long as they are pressed in.
  • With the header on Pin 2-3. Each button will be able to switch the relay on and off individually. You will however not be able to switch the button off with the “off” button, if you switched it on with the “on” button. And vise versa.
