The SparkFun Load Cell Amplifier - HX711 is a small breakout board that lets your microcontroller read a load cell, so you can build accurate digital scales and measure force or weight in your projects.
Load cells change their resistance by tiny amounts when weight is applied. The HX711's 24-bit analog-to-digital converter amplifies and measures these small changes from any standard four-wire Wheatstone bridge load cell, then passes the result to your microcontroller over a simple two-wire clock and data connection using ordinary GPIO pins. Arduino libraries make it quick to get readings.
The board keeps its analog and digital supplies separate and adds extra filtering on the digital side for cleaner, lower-noise readings. An optional YLW pin is provided for connecting a load cell's shield wire to help reduce electromagnetic interference.
