The official Case for Raspberry Pi 5 comes with an integrated fan. HATs can be fitted directly on top of Raspberry Pi 5 by removing the fan, or on top of the fan by use of 14mm high standoffs and a 19mm GPIO extender. These are available separately from Authorised Resellers.
The integrated 2.79 (max) CFM fan has fluid dynamic bearings selected for low noise and an extended operating lifetime. Air is drawn in through a 360° slot under the lid and blown over a heatsink attached to the BCM2712, then exhausted through connector apertures and vents in the base.
Features
- Integrated, temperature-controlled cooling fan that connects to the fan connector on Raspberry Pi 5
- 12mm × 17mm × 4mm heatsink with self-adhesive pad improves heat transfer from the processor
- Easily removable lid exposes fan and breakout slot for cables and GPIO
- Integrated mounting features allow for case stacking
- HATs can be mounted to the enclosure with stand-offs and GPIO header extenders (not included)
- Four silicone feet for the case are included
Specifications
- Input voltage: 5V DC supplied via four-pin fan header on Raspberry Pi 5
- Fan speed control: Pulse width modulation control with tachometer
- Maximum airflow: 2.79 CFM
- Maximum fan speed: 8000 RPM +/- 15%
- Case material: ABS (base, frame, lid) and PC (fan assembly)
What's in the box?
1 x red/white case with fan and heatsink

Case for Raspberry Pi 5 product brief and assembly instructions
The Active Cooler provides an alternative cooling solution for users who wish to use their Raspberry Pi 5 under sustained heavy load without a case. It combines a large metal heatsink with a variable-speed blower, again powered and controlled via the fan connector, and attaches to the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB via sprung pins into a pair of mounting holes.

The Active Cooler is a single-piece anodized aluminium heatsink with an integrated blower. It has pre-applied thermal pads for heat transfer, and is mounted to the Raspberry Pi 5 board directly using spring-loaded push pins. It is actively managed by the Raspberry Pi firmware:
- at 60°C the blower’s fan will be turned on
- at 67.5°C fan speed will be increased
- and finally at 75°C the fan increases to full speed.
When the temperature drops back below these limits, the blower’s fan will spin down automatically.
The product includes
- A single-piece anodized aluminium heatsink
- Heatsink-mounted, temperature-controlled fan
- 5V blower fan with max speed of 8000RPM
- Four wires: power, ground, PWM, and tachometer
- Spring-loaded push pins for mounting onto Raspberry Pi 5
- Pre-applied thermal pads for heat transfer
What's in the box?
1 x active cooler
You might also need a sporty cover to protect your Pi

Shielded cable to connect a CSI camera to the 22-way FPC connector on Raspberry Pi 5 and all Raspberry Pi Zero models.
Raspberry Pi 5 provides two four-lane MIPI connectors, each of which can support either a camera or a display. These connectors use the same 22-way, 0.5mm-pitch “mini” FPC format and require adapter cables to connect to the 15-way, 1mm-pitch “standard” format connectors on current Raspberry Pi camera and display products.
Raspberry Pi offer mini-to-standard adapter cables for cameras and displays in 200mm, 300mm and 500mm lengths.
Note that a camera cable should not be used with a display, and vice versa.

Raspberry Pi 5’s single-lane PCI Express 2.0 interface is exposed on a 16-pin, 0.5 mm pitch FPC connector; the M.2 HAT+ M Key, in both its standard and compact variants, is a mechanical adapter board that converts between this connector and a subset of the M.2 standard. It supports devices that have the M.2 M key edge connector, in the 2230 (standard and compact variants) and 2242 (standard variant only) form factors. It is capable of supplying up to 3A to connected M.2 devices.
The Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ conforms to the Raspberry Pi HAT+ specification and is autodetected by the latest Raspberry Pi software/firmware.
The standard Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ is supplied with a 16mm stacking header and threaded spacers, so it can be fitted to a Raspberry Pi 5 with the Raspberry Pi Active Cooler in place.
The Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+ Compact is designed for use with the Raspberry Pi Case for Raspberry Pi 5. The Compact form factor enables you to connect M.2 M key peripherals with the 2230 form factor to Raspberry Pi 5, while allowing space for the case’s integrated cooling fan.
